Documenting Requirements for Forecasting System Enhancements
The importance of revenue management is well-known for airlines, hotels and travel providers. Over a period of several years, VIA Software supported one client in their push to further develop a forecasting system that was a key cog in their revenue management structure. Specifically, this involved supporting the forecaster operations team with respect to the following tasks:
- Managing requests regarding the capture, processing and prioritisation of bugs and enhancements
- Providing user support
- Developing proposals for user interface enhancements based on user requests
- Coordinating forecaster enhancements between users and the software vendor
- Performing quality assurance checks for bug fixes and changes
- Executing independent plausibility checks, identifying conspicuous forecasts
